The video shows the lunar orbit and its evolution over 500 years. You can clearly see the phenomenon of lunar precession.
The moon orbits the Earth and makes a complete revolution in about 27 days. The moon’s orbit is very complicated. The ellipse of the lunar orbit rotates in space and makes a complete revolution in 8 years and 10 months. The plane of the lunar orbit also rotates and makes a complete revolution in about 18 years and 7 months. Lunar precession occurs primarily due to the fact, that the tidal forces of the Sun act on the Moon in addition to the gravity of the Earth.
The fluctuations of the Moon’s orbit resemble the fluctuations of a rotating coin, when the coin is no longer rotating on the edge, but is about to fall on the table. But there is no table in space, so the fluctuations of the lunar orbit do not fade.
