Procyon Motion Among the Stars During 2 Million Years

You can see how the star Procyon smoothly move relative to other stars during 2 million years. Throughout the video, Procyon is in the center of the screen.

Procyon is currently located in the Canis Minor constellation.

In about 75 thousand years Procyon will take the place of Sirius in the Canis Major constellation.

The video was made using own software. Information about the stars is taken from the Hipparcos catalogue and corrected by data from the Gaia DR3 catalogue.
